1 John 1:5-6

These verses are filled with so much truth! They bring to light another wonderful attribute of God.

There cannot be any darkness and evil in Him and so if we claim to follow Him but continue to walk in the darkness of the world, we have no fellowship with God.

In John 8:44, Jesus tells us that Satan is the father of lies and that there is no truth in him. So, when someone claims to know God but their hearts are truly far from Him, they have chosen to be friends with the ultimate liar. They’d rather flirt with sin than live with true repentance.

You can’t have a relationship built on lies. Especially not with God. We cannot deceive Him because He sees what is truly in our hearts.

Which would you pick? What would your choice be? Will you lead a double life with lip service to God? Or will you give Him a heart filled with genuine repentance?
