“As we look not to the things that are seen, but at the things that are unseen. For the things which are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
~2 Corinthians 4:18 (ESV)
COMMENT:
We live in a spiritual world. There are unseen spirits all around us although we may not realize it.
Paul tells us that we must not focus on the temporary things that can be seen; all of this will one day pass away and will be no more. Instead, Paul exhorts us to focus on what we cannot see.
We are in a war. We are called to rise up and fight against the spirits that want nothing better than to see God’s people destroyed.
How can we fight against something we can’t even see? We use the power granted to us by Someone whom we also cannot see.
We must stand up with faith in the mighty name of Jesus and fight in prayer. And there is one thing we must always remember. We cannot fight the demons through our own feeble strength. It is only through God that our ultimate enemy can be defeated.
We must look to our unseen God to help us fight our unseen enemy!
