Every time you’re tempted this week. Whether it be to lash out at someone who frustrated you. Whether it be to listen to music you know is bad. Whether it be to compare yourself to someone on social media. Whether it be envying someone else gift or talented success. Every single time you feel tempted I challenge you to pray.
Really pray.
Ask God for strength, help, to calm you down, and to give you wisdom so you don’t end up saying things you’ll regret amid a heated conversation. To give you love so you can cheer on someone instead of being upset you don’t have what they have. To help you be confident, so you don’t compare where you are to others. To help you over time those lustful thoughts that keep pulling you away from purity.
I want you to not shy away or try to work on yourself. Invite the Holy Spirit. He called our Helper for a reason. So in our time of need, He’ll help us. If we would only cry out to Him during our period of temptations, He’ll reveal to us the way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13)
So, when those thoughts evoke. Pray. When you feel that jealousy. Pray. Angry? Pray. Annoyed? Okay. Rant to God, express your pain but pray, pray and pray.
