Isaiah 40:31

“They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

~Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)

COMMENT:
Can we just pause for a moment to appreciate this verse? I mean, it offers so much encouragement for the faint of heart!

When we wait on the Lord, we will not grow tired or exhausted. In fact, this verse says the exact opposite. We shall be lifted up with wings like eagles and we will be filled with the renewing strength of the Lord!

How awesome is that?

When we try to hold ourselves up by our own power, we eventually crumble. Our power is weak and we just want to give up when life gets too hard.

But I have great news! When the pressure is too much to bear and we throw up our hands in discouragement and say, “I give up!” there is One who renews our strength.

There is One who takes us by the arms, lifts us out of that dark pit and says, “Come to me and I will give you rest. I will give you strength.”

God will make us soar on wings like eagles and we will not faint or become tired! Our strength is in Him! All we have to do is surrender to and trust Him!

Our God is great and there is none beside Him!
