“But the Lord is with me as a dread warrior; therefore my persecutors will stumble; they will not overcome me. They will be greatly shamed, for they will not succeed. Their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten.”
~Jeremiah 20:11 (ESV)
COMMENT:
This verse is very similar to the many verses I’ve read in the book of Psalms. Different wording, of course, but nonetheless, the Bible repeatedly tells us that the Lord is our fortress, our rock-and now, our warrior.
The Lord is greater than any foe that we face in this world, but yet, we all struggle at times in our faith towards Him. We all have those times when our minds are filled with doubts and we wonder if God is even there.
Do not let yourself be fooled. If God can part waters to let the Israelites walk on dry land, and if He can make water come out of a rock, He can be there for you, no matter the time, no matter the day.
It says in the verse we read today, “My prosecutors will not overcome me. They will not succeed.”
Those who ridicule you for your beliefs will one day stand before God and be judged. So don’t let their cutting remarks get you down. Just remember Who your God is and how He has unlimited power. He is our warrior. All we must do is release our woes and doubts into His hand and trust Him to work in our lives.
