Lord, give me a willing spirit
Give me a willing spirit that desires to be sanctified
Give me a willing spirit to want to be changed. Give me a spirit that is willing to suffer for Your name’s sake. Give me a willing spirit to surrender all for You.
Give us willing hearts God. A willing spirit to obey even when it doesn’t make sense. A willing spirit to trust even when everything appears to crumble. Give us a willing spirit that honours You.
Give me a willing spirit that continues to resist the devil and not give in to temptation. Lord, You showed us how our flesh is weak yet our spirits can be willing. Give me that willingness and strength to walk not according to the flesh but according to Your Spirit. That I walk in Your love and light. That I’m walking in the Spirit. A willing spirit that puts away distraction but chooses to spend time with You.
Help me to have a willingness to let go of everything bringing me further from You. Give me a willingness to choose to spend time with You, to choose to pray and to choose Your path. Give me a willing spirit that chooses to walk in Your light and not walk into darkness.
Give me a willingness to not choose the world but chose to be set-part and different. Help me to behave differently, speak differently, to react differently, move differently, to chose differently and even dress differently as compared to everyone else.
Help me to be willing to honour You in private and in public, in mind and heart, in thoughts and behaviour. Help me to be willing to be a servant to everyone and elevate others above myself so that I don’t fall into pride.
Give me a willing spirit that desires to help others. Give me a willing heart to forgive my enemies despite my ache. Give me the willing heart to love to obey Your voice.
Give me a willing heart to follow Your will.
In Jesus’ name. Amen
