Hi beautiful people of God!!
Don’t you just love receiving compliments?! I mean it’s one thing to look stunning but it’s a different wavelength when someone else acknowledges it. Maybe it’s just me but I definitely get a boost of confidence when I’m complimented.
Which is why the challenge for today is to TELL THEM!!
You most likely see lovely things during the course of your days, whether on the internet, social media, random people or even close family and friends. Why not voice your approval of whatever you find appealing about them instead of only making a mental note in your head?
1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact, you are doing.”
You don’t know from a surface level what people are going through. Some people are in really low places but show nothing on their expression so we don’t know what may be going on with them because we can’t exactly dive into their thoughts. But a little word of encouragement can go a long way.
You don’t even need to recite a Macbeth monologue to do it. A simple enthusiastic, “I love your hair,” works very well. You could even add a twist and say, “If I could sing that well, I’d never shut up.” Little kind quirky things like that can put a genuine smile on someone’s face. How amazing is that?!
Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”
Show love to the people around you and possibly even the people you don’t know by blessing them with a compliment.
If you like to put numbers to things, aspire to compliment at least 3 people everyday.
Trust me when I say (well technically type) that the joy you get from someone else’s joy, is a joy that is worth it. All the time.
Get to complimenting today and turn someone’s frown 🙁 upside down 🙂
