If you feel guilty when you’re doing something; listening to music, reading a book, looking at photos, etc., it’s probably a good time to pause and think.
Is this giving glory to God? Am I maintaining my relationship with Him? If He was sitting next to me (physically,) would He be pleased?
If the answer is no, then you probably shouldn’t be doing whatever it is that you’re currently entertaining yourself with.
Put your phone down. Read your Bible. Pray for a while. Turn on some worship music. Go outside. Spend some time with family. Make some art. Play with a pet. Clean your room. Read a clean novel. Silence your notifications so you won’t be tempted to turn on your phone quite as much. Sit and think. Have some coffee or tea. Write down ideas in your notebook. Check up on real-life friends. Write for a bit.
Detox. Clear out the clutter. Make room for Jesus.
