When you read the verse in Psalm, it tells us to pour out our hearts. When you feel anxiety, fear, or worry, that’s a call for you to pray because those feelings are not of the Spirit. They are contrary to the Spirit and against God’s will. God never wants us to live in fear, worry, or anxiety.
When you feel that panic arise, that worry, those thoughts and anxieties, I want you to pray immediately. You can even go to your room, close the door, and go to the Lord. Pour out your worries because God calls us to pour out our hearts before Him. We need to communicate with Him and tell Him what is burdening us, what is worrying us, etc. After telling God everything that is causing the anxiety, that’s when you surrender yourself and ask for His peace. Ask Him to fill you up with peace. Ask the Holy Spirit to take control over your mind, heart, body, and spirit. Ask Him to come take over and reign. I want that as you pray that you have faith. I want you to be confident that God is right there in front of you and listening to you. That the Holy Spirit is inside of you, listening to your prayers and immediately operating. I want you to know that PEACE is promised to us because we have the Spirit of God. We, as believers, live in peace, and peace is our lifestyle. Anxiety can come, but it shouldn’t be how we live. When we do have anxiety, we cast them upon Christ who carries those burdens.
Whenever I get anxious, I pray, surrender, and call upon the Holy Spirit to fill me up with peace. After a while of praying, I always feel this peace that I can’t explain. I feel light, at ease, and at peace. I feel like my burdens are taken away. Does this mean you won’t feel the anxiety again? No, you’ll feel it again because we live in an imperfect world and those thoughts will always try to come back but whenever they do come back, you’ll discover that in your secret place with the Holy Spirit you’ll always have peace
And lastly, always remember you’re not alone. You’re not living alone. You have someone inside of you who is with you. The Holy Spirit, who is your Helper, is there. You’re not studying, working, travelling, or even serving by yourself, but you’re doing it in partnership with the Holy Spirit. Remember His there to help you, and two is always better than one because when you’ll feel like breaking, He will lift you. When you feel anxiety, He gives you peace. When you want to explode, He gives you hope.
Remember you are in a relationship with someone who offers to take your burdens. Someone who gives you peace in their presence. That God will comfort you and is ready to listen.
If we don’t have peace, it isn’t the Lord’s fault but rather ours. It’s our fault for not recognising the fact that we have a God who promises us peace when we go to Him. We need to make that effort to go to Him when we feel burdened. Our response as children of God isn’t to cry, worry, and complain. As children of God, we aren’t left orphans (John 14:18), abandoned and forgotten, but we have the Lord with us. Though God doesn’t promise our lives will have no problems, He promises His presence with us. That in pain, we have a Comforter. In ache, we have a healer. In issues, we have someone to support and strengthen us to keep going.
In trials, we have hope. I want you to learn to speak to Him, write to Him, and even cry to Him. Pour out your heart before Him and explain everything for at the end of seeking His comfort, peace, and strength. You’ll feel relieved. You’ll feel light as He will take those burdens and give you one that’s light.
