Proverbs 16:33
New Living Translation
33 We may throw the dice,
but the Lord determines how they fall.
A dice has multiple sides. You can know all the sides, but you won’t know exactly what side will hit the ground once you throw it. In other words, you can’t predict what would be the result of poor simple movement of throwing.
Throwing can represent any decision and action we take. You can meet people, go somewhere, and do something, but ultimately, only God fully knows the outcome of it all. God knows if that plan will fail or not. If it will succeed or not?
What does this information do?
It should increase our dependence on God. Increase our reliance on His wisdom. How foolish are we that we make decisions without consulting God? He is the alpha and omega. He is at the end right now. He sees it all, but we ignore His counsel.
Girls, we can apply for a university. We can travel. We can enter a relationship, but only God knows if this relationship will lead to a healthy marriage or not. If that school leads to the career He called you to. If this country is where He sees you gain friends and have a church community.
Only He knows.
We need to stop being lazy and seek God. We don’t live by chance. We don’t roll dice and cross our arms. No, we seek God, commit our ways to Him, and rely on His direction. We seek Him in all circumstances and rely on the leading of His Holy Spirit living in us.
Today, I want you to go before and ask God. God, what must I do? How should I go? Should I even do it?
Don’t do this in anxiety. Do this with faith. It’s not about hearing an audible voice or a boom in the sky. It’s about showing God, you trust Him above yourself, above your research, above your intelligence and wisdom. It’s showing the Holy Spirit you’re willing to be led by Him. You’re fine with changing your mind or redoing it all. You’re surrendered enough to reject that property, refuse that contract, and change all for Him.
When God sees your heart, He will direct you to exactly where you need to be.
