I’ll like us to pray to surrender the future only God can see.
Let’s pray for God to use us. To use us for His glory and to impact the lives of others. Let’s pray for God to use our gifts and calling to be a way of ministering to this world. Let’s pray for God’s leading for our futures and our identity. Let’s surrender every confusion we might have regarding our future, the unknown and the questions.
Let’s surrender it before God and ask Him for His will to be done. That we will become everything God has called us to be. We will go everywhere God has called us to go. We will move everywhere God has called us to move and we will do everything God has called us to do.
We will be the women of God that walk in the Spirit. Know His word and walk in our callings. We won’t allow confusion to remain but we pray for clarity in who God has called us to be in our generation and this season.
But as I always remind us is that the same way God has amazing plans for our lives and mighty plans to use us, the enemy has plans to kill, steal and destroy us (John 10:10).
With that same zeal of prayer, I want us to begin also going against the plans of the enemy. Whether he throws distractions at us. Whether he tries to bring sin into our lives. Whether he tries to get us to compromise. Whether he is spiritually attacking us with anxiety, depression, warfare, or anything discouraged, oppressed and attacked I want us to call upon God, the God whose will shall always prevail to keep us walking on His will, keep us walking in the light and always resisting the devil.
Girls, we don’t always know what God is planning and similarly, we don’t always know what the enemy is planning. God behind the scenes makes all work for our good (Romans 8:28) and the kingdom of darkness so works to make all thongs work our defeat and destruction. With every will of God, we have the anti-good who is the enemy to seek to bring us outside God’s will.
He will do all he can to discourage you. To make you want to give up so you don’t even try. He will do all he can to destroy you with fear. He will do all he can to bring shame, condemnation and failure into your life. He will do all he can to bring distraction even through relationships where you were focused on your relationship with God but now you’re in a place where you know it doesn’t honour God but you’re going further and further away, where you can’t hear God properly because you’re clouded by sin
We don’t know what the enemy has as a snare against us. We don’t know what traps he is seeking to put in place or what sin he is planning to get us to fall in.
So what do we do? The Bible doesn’t call us to be passive and pretend as if spiritual warfare is not real. No, we are called to pray against it. If we are silent and remain passive the enemy can achieve His goal because we as daughters of Christ don’t obey the call to not alone pray for God’s will to be done but pray against the attacks of the enemy.
We have an enemy fighting us constantly, never giving up to try to see us further from Christ but we also have Christ who intercedes for us and helps us (Romans 8:34). We also have the word of God we can use to defeat the attacks of the enemy and we have the full armour of God we can wear to remain vigilant (Ephesians 6:10-17).
So today I want us to take time to worship God before going in prayer, read and meditate on the word to fill ourselves up with truth and begin to go before our King, pray, surrender, in perseverance and bold faith. I want us to believe that God is alive, hears us, answers His children and will visit us. I encourage us to go before God in repentance, to ask God for His purification and for Him to purify us to be more like Him and reflect His glory. That we pray with good motives, that we aren’t praying with a heart of bitterness, anger, envy or competition. That we aren’t praying just because we want others to praise or see us. No, I want us to pray to have a servant’s heart like Jesus and to glorify the Name above all names.
